I’ve mentioned before that we live in the migratory bird path, and we get a ton of hummingbirds in September. In fact, 40 miles East of us in Holly Springs, Mississippi, is where the Hummingbird Festival takes place every September at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center.
Thousands of hummingbirds can be seen there, all at once. The festival exhibits and educates about other local creatures in our area like, owls, hawks, bats, and snakes. If you love hummingbirds, you should put a visit on your bucket list.
We don’t get as many as Strawberry Plains, but several times a day in September our feeders look like bee hives, there’s so much activity. Our little hummingbirds keep Kenny hopping daily to provide delicious nectar.
Enjoy a a video of our hummingbirds:
ALSO: I totally want to make this hummingbird feeder I found on Pinterest; other woodland creatures at our feeders; and a mixed media painting on the easel in my studio, I did of the little hummingbird in the photo at the top of this page. I call him Moosh Bird, because he was a tiny tyrant, much like my Pekingese and muse, Moosh.:
