I made some home made biscuits and sausage if anyone is howngry!

I dumped about 1 and 1/2 cups flour in a bowl, about 1/3 cup Crisco and tablespoon of cold butter. Add 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt. I worked all that together with a ….. um… one of those things you work Crisco into dough with. ha.. Then I added about 1/4 cup of sour cream, and as I had no buttermilk, I used some plain Kefle (it’s like a cross between yogurt and buttermilk) mixed with whole milk… about maybe… hmmmm… cup and a half??.. until my dough was stiff but a little wet. Then rolled that onto a floured countertop, patted it flat and cut the biscuits out with a juice glass. Laid them in an un-greased pan and baked them at 400 for about 18-20 minutes… till brown. 😀 Can you follow all that?

Instead of sour cream use buttermilk, if you have it. It was still good. But no self respectin’ Southerner makes biscuits with anything but buttermilk.
